can someone tell me when is the rafting season starting at rishikesh/shivpuri. I really need to go this time, missed it last time 
. Some say it continues in the winter months as well…not sure in that case if you fall, you would fall to a cold death

Rafting season is on dude….
But not too many people are coming due to fear from cold water
.
To be frank from feb onwards it would be a real good time to go for rafting…I have been for rafting 4 times now,you could probably plan a trip with http://vxplor.com/ or mail your enquiries to sales@vxplor.com , I got reply from them in less than 5-6 hours…

you can do it now even. water is as cold as in summer it does not change so the whether.

Rafting at rishikesh would remain closed from July 1’st to Aug End.
Rafting would again start on 1’st Sept and camping would start on 15′th Sept..

Rafting season lasts for 10 months and is closed only inn July And August. But this time due to the heavy rains the rafting has not started yet. Hopefully the rafting for this season starts on 9th October Weekend but not anytime before the weekend of 2nd October. Previous year it got delayed by 15 days due to strike. Also, to your point of Rafting in Winter – Rafting in winter is fun, though there are few takers of it because of the cold. The winter days in rishikesh are sunny. So it odes not make much of a difference. Infact the camping experience is better in the winter. You can sit all night around the bonfire.
Book in advance. This year there can be rush due to the commonwealth visitors.
