I am planning to do a trip with a couple of friends in India in mid-October. We are heading from Agra to Udaipur by train, and want to stopover for a night or two in either Jaipur or Ajmer which are both on the way. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which would be better for this? Jaipur is a lot bigger but wondering if there’s anything great to see in Ajmer… We’re 19/20 but not really going over for the party scene or anything so that part of it doesn’t matter.

Jaipur is defintely better. There are several forts and palaces and lot more to see in Jaipur, you would have good eating options and all aswell,,…
If you cover all the local attractions in Jaipur, you can take a day trip to Pushkar/Ajmer, which is only 3 hours drive from Jaipur.

For sure Jaipur is a better option to explore with it’s vivid attractions and Ajmer is good for excursion (main attraction is Khwaja moinunuddin Chishti’s Dargah).
