The usage of + sign in universal calls
just put India’s country code of 91 before the number, dont include any area codes.
But then you need the exit code for the country you are in, but with mobile phones they have made it a universal + sign, then 91 to go to India, then the mobile number 9xxx. If it was a number bginning with a 0 then leave the zero out. If your friend is travelling to India with his, for eg, his Australian phone set to roaming then to contact him you would dial + then 61, then leave out first zero then his mobile number . So, what I do it with any Oz phone number that I store in my phone’s memory is to store it as +61412345678 (mobile example) or +6129938 xxxx (land line example). This means if I go overseas, I can ring any Oz relo or friend and the + sign lets me get out of whatever country without any additional keying in of numbers. Having it set like this doesnt affect dialing locally when I’m back in Oz.
